Why? They celebrated a feast, the Jewish Shavuot. It takes <span id=\"cd9eb4e2-9b41-4b49-824b-67f431f8680b\" class=\"GINGER_SOFTWARE_mark\">place<\/span> 7 weeks and one day after the feast of Pesach. It is the celebration of the harvest <span id=\"d92c4032-0ef5-4fcc-885c-4663fc2b4d27\" class=\"GINGER_SOFTWARE_mark\"><span id=\"545c55cf-d85d-4a94-9d9d-c6ae46e9bca5\" class=\"GINGER_SOFTWARE_mark\"><span id=\"ad7e0b7b-43dc-4d5a-8876-80c4d4173cba\" class=\"GINGER_SOFTWARE_mark\">( <\/span><\/span><\/span>2. Mose 23,16) or the day of the first field crops (4. Mose 28,26). It reminds also on the <span id=\"6774bfcc-c6f1-46dd-ac55-f26b40d032b3\" class=\"GINGER_SOFTWARE_mark\"><span id=\"af480f81-0173-4735-88ce-027464d68c1c\" class=\"GINGER_SOFTWARE_mark\"><span id=\"5df80ad1-bf1c-46e0-8242-896bc8dd54c7\" class=\"GINGER_SOFTWARE_mark\">overhanding<\/span><\/span><\/span> of the second version of the Ten Commandments from God through Mose to the people of Israel. And doubtlessly this feast inspired the Christian Whitsun.<\/span><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000080;\">But on this day something different happened. Suddenly a booming like a storm came from the sky. The disciples saw something like a lambently flame which set down on them: the Holy Spirit had imbued them. He gave them the ability to have conversations in different languages. Jewish <span id=\"64bdbcbc-9f8e-4e71-93d1-4a3353179021\" class=\"GINGER_SOFTWARE_mark\"><span id=\"a21a3d9b-060e-48b8-918d-a0ff3c9fd228\" class=\"GINGER_SOFTWARE_mark\"><span id=\"cf364bfa-1757-48db-b0fb-35baad0bc4fa\" class=\"GINGER_SOFTWARE_mark\">people which<\/span><\/span><\/span> came from several points of the world for the feast of the Shavuot, joined up and were surprised about the disciples that they were talking in their own language. Some of them recognized a miracle of God in that event, other ones simply thought the disciples were drunken. Pete, empowered by the Holy Spirit, gave a speech to the people. He announced that Jesus was the awaited Messiah and urged the listeners to change their life and get baptized. About three thousand people followed his invitation and so the day became the founding day of the first Christian community.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000080;\">The Acts of the Apostles (Acts 2, 1 &#8211; 42) tell us about a big roar, a booming, &#8211; what could be meant <span id=\"9308c56d-3bfa-40ad-b944-9d4d0972c75b\" class=\"GINGER_SOFTWARE_mark\"><span id=\"ef4f747b-004c-44e9-a857-f868c8f5ddff\" class=\"GINGER_SOFTWARE_mark\">with<\/span><\/span> that? Perhaps it was a moan in the beginning, afterwards an uproar which came with the enthusiasm and real understanding <span id=\"b2ebe5e9-8bd2-433b-a631-564cbc954309\" class=\"GINGER_SOFTWARE_mark\"><span id=\"a74fcc59-278b-4644-af99-658b7acfc5a8\" class=\"GINGER_SOFTWARE_mark\"><span id=\"f205dcf7-6d75-4430-881e-54d43b49c089\" class=\"GINGER_SOFTWARE_mark\">by<\/span><\/span><\/span> the people. Today we are not able to say what it really was. Only one is absolutely <span id=\"e4f255bf-6ce2-4ca5-96ed-a28a94604b96\" class=\"GINGER_SOFTWARE_mark\"><span id=\"14a3cf2e-9c54-41a7-afad-7251b523e5a0\" class=\"GINGER_SOFTWARE_mark\"><span id=\"786b8bb4-0b35-433b-8bec-911a69e564ea\" class=\"GINGER_SOFTWARE_mark\">confident<\/span><\/span><\/span>, it was the birthday of our church. It was the sign of the Holy <span id=\"d1f77b76-59f6-48cc-8f85-3d70bd90a648\" class=\"GINGER_SOFTWARE_mark\"><span id=\"1aee40f2-00b1-4cf1-809b-b3a0531dc0d2\" class=\"GINGER_SOFTWARE_mark\"><span id=\"2b257a6a-67fb-4359-a05e-709a33a82c9c\" class=\"GINGER_SOFTWARE_mark\">Spirit which<\/span><\/span><\/span> was poured out over the people \u2013 and on this the feast of Whitsun has to remember and encourage us. It is not the start of something completely new, it is the continuation of Easter. Whitsun is something like a warranty that the resurrection of Jesus and the joined promise is still valid &#8211; even after Easter.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000080;\">In the Acts of the Apostles the happenings from Sinai get connected with the event of the day of Whitsun. Luke, the author of the text, wanted to make clear, that a new legislative power for the new community was installed, similar to the legislative power of the Sinai. The so called miracle of Pentecost was the ability of the disciples to speak and to recognize all languages. On the one hand, outgoing from the Christian point of view <span id=\"17282b39-22c8-428b-85e5-2c45b8f29aa1\" class=\"GINGER_SOFTWARE_mark\"><span id=\"94820c60-fad0-4ee0-a670-99b7c8f6b291\" class=\"GINGER_SOFTWARE_mark\">herewith<\/span><\/span> the Babylonian confusion was cancelled. Thereby God has punished the arrogance of the people during the Tower of Babel. Furthermore the miracle is a sign that the message of Jesus Christ is valid for all people, independent of nationality, ethnicity or gender. The Holy Spirit overcomes all communication difficulties between people &#8211; and also between people and God.<\/span><\/p>\n<h4><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"And_today_%E2%80%A6\"><\/span><span style=\"color: #000080;\">And today<span id=\"93bbf11e-37e2-47b3-8f54-ac55fc39de62\" class=\"GINGER_SOFTWARE_mark\"><span id=\"a1f61d24-4b97-42b3-9e0a-93f06a3d09aa\" class=\"GINGER_SOFTWARE_mark\"><span id=\"ad4d0f78-bd77-4c11-8d15-329e3ce427bf\" class=\"GINGER_SOFTWARE_mark\"> \u2026<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000080;\">The disciples wanted to impart that Jesus is connected in a new and <span id=\"87231438-149c-4cca-9450-1472a8fa7d41\" class=\"GINGER_SOFTWARE_mark\"><span id=\"8c37d71e-4f32-42f1-ad1c-ba20a760cd85\" class=\"GINGER_SOFTWARE_mark\"><span id=\"4fe6bb68-8436-4a1d-a9d1-853580514987\" class=\"GINGER_SOFTWARE_mark\">personally<\/span><\/span><\/span> way with the people through the Holy Spirit. The disciples understood the Holy Spirit as real presence and as a gift and talent. The Holy Spirit is a sign <span id=\"f94f5b45-8ac7-46bb-aee4-e58fbbfc0038\" class=\"GINGER_SOFTWARE_mark\"><span id=\"a3c914ac-4c06-416e-b2b8-664ff8da336b\" class=\"GINGER_SOFTWARE_mark\"><span id=\"d307baff-eca3-488e-80c3-6939331893dc\" class=\"GINGER_SOFTWARE_mark\">for<\/span><\/span><\/span> the faithful community that different races, languages and talents are one and connected to each other. Each separation is suspended. In Pete\u2019s homily of Whitsun Christian faith also means: the baptism in the name of Jesus Christ is following the atonement. The faith in Jesus Christ is the premise for the reception of the Holy Spirit. Following the New Testament each Christian is a \u201ctemple of the Holy Spirit\u201d(1 Corinthians 6,19). He should pervade them with courage and power and give them different talents.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000080;\">In the same way our Salvatorian Charter is guiding us in chapter 2 \u2013 Our Mission. It\u2019s maintained:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000080;\">We are called as <span id=\"fc8ccae8-b9a2-4329-870b-36fac88dbb31\" class=\"GINGER_SOFTWARE_mark\"><span id=\"ff7e71a2-9e79-4dbe-9259-d4e2fba93ea6\" class=\"GINGER_SOFTWARE_mark\"><span id=\"c45c2dc8-a83a-4891-bc8f-e210a4b84f29\" class=\"GINGER_SOFTWARE_mark\">Salvatorians<\/span><\/span><\/span> to announce the Gospel by all ways and means that the love of God inspires &#8211; be urgent in season, out of season. Especially through the testimony of our life, in our manner and how we act. We are called as apostles of today to bring God\u2019s unconditional love to the people.<\/span><\/p>\n<h4><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Where_and_how\"><\/span><span style=\"color: #000080;\">Where and how?<\/span><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000080;\">Very easy \u2013 <span id=\"731114d9-717c-459b-bbe0-1c8dae5dda4a\" class=\"GINGER_SOFTWARE_mark\"><span id=\"77bed0b7-0307-4bc7-9310-c9d3107425b4\" class=\"GINGER_SOFTWARE_mark\"><span id=\"bd5c6f07-5bbc-4b42-82ed-5d3bbaee8840\" class=\"GINGER_SOFTWARE_mark\">everywhere it\u2019s<\/span><\/span><\/span> possible and necessary! And <span id=\"1a074e22-53b0-41d8-b2ea-61915e04b5db\" class=\"GINGER_SOFTWARE_mark\"><span id=\"1ea11ab4-19ad-4109-97ba-e6a06ee40503\" class=\"GINGER_SOFTWARE_mark\"><span id=\"d21512a0-7432-41bd-a92b-4ea9465199ff\" class=\"GINGER_SOFTWARE_mark\">necessary it\u2019s<\/span><\/span><\/span> especially in our own <span id=\"6aa75f59-df49-4160-846e-59660b41c4d7\" class=\"GINGER_SOFTWARE_mark\"><span id=\"e7d76b8b-1026-4d34-ba11-35e9bc7efa9e\" class=\"GINGER_SOFTWARE_mark\"><span id=\"9fd579aa-a6ff-4a09-acaa-50a449aae181\" class=\"GINGER_SOFTWARE_mark\">surrounding<\/span><\/span><\/span>, at home, in our family, at our work place, in our community, &#8211; everywhere, we meet others.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000080;\">But not lecturing. Let\u2019s remember on the <span id=\"2e9a769d-0ecd-48d8-b1a5-8b1fd73975d6\" class=\"GINGER_SOFTWARE_mark\"><span id=\"88cd9b9a-29e2-46ee-ad0e-0963906bfdf5\" class=\"GINGER_SOFTWARE_mark\"><span id=\"d7b36ac3-3770-4016-8967-e590e8bb09c7\" class=\"GINGER_SOFTWARE_mark\">radicality<\/span><\/span><\/span> of <span id=\"4a7fa83a-079a-4459-a813-3a51378c795d\" class=\"GINGER_SOFTWARE_mark\"><span id=\"80f7bdcd-d126-431f-a3a6-7cb128945806\" class=\"GINGER_SOFTWARE_mark\"><span id=\"3b4b6624-44a1-4951-a4de-c3a0b7fe51e5\" class=\"GINGER_SOFTWARE_mark\">God we<\/span><\/span><\/span> heard above at the beginning of this text. God is looking for easy people to be prophets, he got born in a stable and a woman announced the Gospel as first person. Just this can and has to encourage each one of us. Let\u2019s take our talents to service the announcement, because Fr. Jordan has called us with his words:<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #000080;\"><strong><em>As long as there is one person on earth,<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #000080;\"><strong><em>Who doesn\u2019t know God and doesn\u2019t love Him above all things,<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #000080;\"><strong><em>You dare not allow yourself a moment\u2019s rest.<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000080;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<pre><span style=\"color: #000080;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/pre>\n<p style=\"text-align: right;\"><span style=\"color: #000080;\">Fr.
