You remember why?<\/p>\n<p class=\"western\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.laysalvatorians.org\/update\/?attachment_id=1817\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-1185\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.laysalvatorians.org\/update\/wp-content\/uploads\/Josefine_800_x_600-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/www.laysalvatorians.org\/update\/wp-content\/uploads\/Josefine_800_x_600-279x300.jpg 279w\" sizes=\"(min-width: 150px) 279px, 150px\" class=\"wp-image-1817 size-medium alignleft\" title=\"St. Josephine Bakhita\" alt=\"\" width=\"279\" height=\"300\"><\/a>It&#8217;s the feast day of <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Josephine_Bakhita\">St. Josephine Bakhita<\/a>, who was kidnapped as a child and sold into slavery in Sudan and Italy. Once Josephine was freed, she became a Canossian nun and dedicated her life to sharing her testament of deliverance from slavery and comforting the poor and suffering. She was declared a Saint in 2000 and the Pontifical Council for Justice and Peace and the International Union of Superiors General have designated February 8 as an annual day of prayer and awareness against human trafficking.<\/p>\n<p class=\"western\">On February 8, Catholics all over the world are encouraged to host or attend prayer services to create greater awareness <!--more-->about this disgrace of the mankind &#8211; which is still present and happens frequently hidden in our neighborhood, more than we would expect. Through prayer, we not only reflect on the experiences of those that have suffered through this affront to human dignity, but also comfort, strengthen, and help empower victims of today. Because they need our attention, our awareness and stand-up against this kind of crime.<\/p>\n<p class=\"western\">Many Salvatorians over the world (religious and laity) are working in this field in several units already. Take on this opportunity of this day, to get more information about the Salvatorian work against Human trafficking and modern slavery.<\/p>\n<p class=\"western\">Send a request to your unit leaders and ask how you could support this work. Modern slavery has many and often surprising faces because it&#8217;s unfortunately often more close to you as you expect.<\/p>\n<p class=\"western\">By the way, do you know how many slaves are working for you? &#8211; You think &#8220;No one&#8221; or have no idea? Be sure, there are working some &#8211; somewhere. How many, you can find out here at <a href=\"http:\/\/slaveryfootprint.org\/\">slaveryfootprint.org<\/a>. Follow the link and try to find it out. Una vez que Josephine fue liberada, se convirti\u00f3 en una monja Canonesa y dedic\u00f3 su vida a compartir su testimonio de la liberaci\u00f3n de la esclavitud y consolar a los pobres y su sufrimiento. Fue declarada santa en 2000 y el Consejo Pontificio para la Justicia y la Paz y la Uni\u00f3n Internacional de Superiores Generales han designado el 8 de febrero como un d\u00eda anual de oraci\u00f3n y conciencia contra la trata de personas.<\/p>\n<p class=\"western\">El 8 de febrero, se alienta a los cat\u00f3licos de todo el mundo a organizar o asistir a servicios de oraci\u00f3n para crear una mayor conciencia sobre esta desgracia de la humanidad, que todav\u00eda est\u00e1 presente y sucede con frecuencia oculta en nuestro vecindario, m\u00e1s de lo que cabr\u00eda esperar. A trav\u00e9s de la oraci\u00f3n, no solo reflexionamos sobre las experiencias de aquellos que han sufrido esta afrenta a la dignidad humana, sino que tambi\u00e9n confortamos, fortalecemos y ayudamos a empoderar a las v\u00edctimas de hoy. Porque necesitan nuestra atenci\u00f3n, nuestra conciencia y resistencia contra este tipo de crimen.<\/p>\n<p class=\"western\">Muchos salvatorianos de todo el mundo (religiosos y laicos) ya est\u00e1n trabajando en este campo en varias unidades. Aproveche esta oportunidad de este d\u00eda, para obtener m\u00e1s informaci\u00f3n sobre el trabajo salvatoriano contra la trata de personas y la esclavitud moderna.<\/p>\n<p class=\"western\">Env\u00eda una solicitud a los l\u00edderes de tu unidad y preg\u00fantale c\u00f3mo podr\u00edas apoyar en este trabajo. La esclavitud moderna tiene muchas veces facetas sorprendentes, porque desafortunadamente a menudo est\u00e1 m\u00e1s cerca de ti que lo que t\u00fa esperas.<\/p>\n<p class=\"western\">Por cierto, \u00bfsabes cu\u00e1ntos esclavos est\u00e1n trabajando para ti? &#8211; \u00bfPiensas &#8220;Nadie&#8221; o no tienes idea? Sigue el enlace e intenta descubrirlo.
