 <\/p>\n

O Lord my God, my Father in heaven,
\nhow<\/span> nice that you see me.
\nYou know me.
\nYou see me when I’m scared,
\nyou<\/span> see me if I hide
\nand<\/span> do not admit what I’ve done.
\nYou see me when I am alone and dreaming of great things
\nand<\/span> of the life that lies before me.
\nAs well, you see me!<\/p>\n

I can not take a step
\nin which you can not<\/span> come with me.
\nI can not<\/span> think a word
\nwhich<\/span> you don\u2019t hear, before I say it.<\/p>\n

As in two big hands you hold me.
\nI am safe in it like a bird in the nest,
\nand<\/span> sometimes it seems to me
\nthat<\/span> I was trapped inside like a bird in a cage.
\nLord, sometimes I feel spooky in your big hand,
\nwhere<\/span> I’m trapped, and I want to escape from it.<\/p>\n

I’m thinking about the great world,
\non<\/span> the artificial moons that people make
\nabout<\/span> the spaceships that chase out into space,
\nand<\/span> think that we have people actually no longer needed you.<\/p>\n

But while I think that, you’re around me
\nand<\/span> I’m in your two big hands.
\nI think sometimes that it had actually does not make sense that I exist.<\/p>\n

Then I’m sick of this life and would gladly throw it away
\nI have not chosen it by myself.
\nBut I know that if I throw away my life and come to the dead,
\nthen<\/span> I meet you there again
\nand<\/span> I’m caught in your hands again
\nand<\/span> am not escaped neither my tasks nor you.<\/p>\n

Sometimes I dream of the great life.
\nI dream of to be<\/span> rich – or beautiful – or powerful,
\nso<\/span> that the people see and admire me – and are talking about me.<\/p>\n

Not only that one in my street
\nbut<\/span> all and all people around the world,
\nthen<\/span> it seems to me so stupid and small,
\nthe<\/span> life I should lead, in which it always says:
\nThou shalt, thou shalt not.
\nYou can, you can not.<\/p>\n

And I want to run away from all this.
\nBut I know these are dreams.
\nYour hand is strong.
\nYour hand upholds me in my school
\nor<\/span> in my work
\nor<\/span> in your home,
\nand<\/span> everywhere where my small tasks are.<\/p>\n

It is good, Lord, that you hold me.
\nSometimes I think: Now, no one does see<\/span> me.
\nNo one does see<\/span> me – and you, Lord, are not there, too.<\/p>\n

When it is dark or when the curtains are drawn on my window.
\nAnd I know also how stupid it is to think
\nthat<\/span> you, God need the sunlight or a lamp to see me,
\nas<\/span> if you had eyes like a man.<\/p>\n

But it’s good, Lord, that you see me.
\nHow should I be able to live
\nif<\/span> you would not pay attention on<\/span> me,
\nif<\/span> you with your big hands and with your love
\nbe<\/span> not always and everywhere around me?<\/p>\n

When I look at myself and look at my hand
\nor<\/span> my face or my shape in the mirror,
\nthen<\/span> I know: That you’ve done everything \u2013 and it’s good to know that.<\/p>\n

I know nothing about it,
\nwhat<\/span> has happened to me when I was a small child,
\nwhen<\/span> I could not even go out or talk.<\/p>\n

I do not know how it happened that I grew in my mother’s womb.
\nYou have done this all, too.
\nI am created from your good and great thoughts.<\/p>\n

Give me awe in my heart and in my thoughts.
\nReverence for the body, where my mother carried me,
\nand<\/span> reverence for your mysterious thoughts.<\/p>\n

Because I want to thank you for everything you have given to me,
\nfor<\/span> my body, mind and soul,
\nfor<\/span> my skill and my healthy force.<\/p>\n

I would like to thank you so much more for other things, too.<\/p>\n

I thank you that you have determined my path of life
\nand<\/span> not an accident, not the stars, which people asks<\/span> around me,
\nnot<\/span> even the strange power which we call fate.<\/p>\n

I thank you for every day that I can experience,
\nbecause<\/span> it comes from your good hand.<\/p>\n

I pray thee, my God, help me that I’m not complaining,
\nbecause<\/span> I’m not so talented
\nnot<\/span> so beautiful
\nor<\/span> not so healthy like others.<\/p>\n

Let me be thankful that you have made me in the way I am,
\nlet<\/span> me be thankful and praise you.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
