\nOnly the song of the birds and the church’s morning bells can be heard.
\nThank<\/span><\/span> you have given me this day.
\nThe silence makes me anxious and thoughtful.
\nHow quiet it is here –<\/span><\/span>
\nand<\/span><\/span> how many people have no peace at this very moment.
\nLiving in fear and persecution,
\nfear<\/span><\/span> the next attack,
\nthe<\/span><\/span> next impact of a projectile …<\/span><\/span>
\nHow many fear<\/span><\/span> this day,
\nfear<\/span><\/span> the renewed exertions,
\nthe<\/span><\/span> work – which brings too little or no pay,
\nto<\/span><\/span> live from it.
\nThe stress with some supervisor or masters,
\nthat<\/span><\/span> surely comes today again –<\/span><\/span>
\nand<\/span><\/span> the agony of the often invisible chains,
\nthe<\/span><\/span> one take the air we breathe.
\nConcern for friends and relatives,
\nwhich<\/span> are close in reality but<\/span> yet seem as far away
\nor<\/span> are far away and yet seem so close,
\nthe<\/span> anger or sorrow – which touches us unprepared .<\/span><\/p>\n
\nand<\/span> no one comes ever back in the same way again<\/p>\n
\nthat<\/span> makes me happy
\nAnd maybe I can give forward this little happiness as a gift
\nsomeone<\/span> who needs it that day
\n.
